About Us

History of the Association

  • Chartered in 1975 by the National Association of Home Builders with about 50 members
  • Originally chartered with Carbon County until the early 1980's because both associations were small
  • Today we have just over 125 Builder members and associate members.
  • As a member of the Schuylkill Builders Association we are automatically members of the Pennsylvania Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders

Purpose for Association 

  • Represent the interests and needs of members and employees in the home building industry.

To help create and maintain a favorable business environment with respect to burdensome regulations and laws, and where the consumers will benefit with affordable housing. 

Address the issues that affect the building industry and housing.  Examples: Labor shortage; Growth-smart growth, urban sprawl; Regulations-State wide building codes, OSHA; EPA/DEP-Environmental concerns-water, energy, habitat; PA HIC Registration

To help provide products and services which can enhance the effectiveness and professionalism of the industry. 

  • Be a service to the community

Promote ethical business practices and standards within our membership and the building  industry.

Encourage top performing students at our local Technical schools and award $100.00 U.S. Bonds upon graduation. Scholarships for Tools are awarded to help Technical school graduates defray costs of required tools when attending higher education trade schools.

  •  Provide benefits to the members

All the benefits of the PA Builders Association and the National Association are also available to our members, such as conventions, seminars, legal counsel in some instances, and professional publications. 

Networking at dinner meetings held at local restaurants on the fourth Tuesday of the month, occasionally with guest speakers, and also where members can meet and discuss issues related to the building industry and business.

Insurances are available to members at a group rates.  This includes health, disability, life and workers compensation.

PA One Call fee is waived.  Invoice (copy) must be received by local office.

We currently have a Web site that has all members and trades listed for the general public to access.
